Considering yourself unworthy of success or happiness is often the result of a psychological pattern called Imposter Syndrome.
Repeated negative messaging during childhood that one is not good enough or that one lacks something in comparison with others leads many people, especially from marginalized communities, to internalize these messages and to doubt their own worth in adulthood.
