Chief Guest Speaker
Nisha Millet
Our chief guest speaker is Nisha Millet, Olympian swimmer and director of Nisha Millet’s Swimming Academy in Bangalore. One of the most recognized names in Indian swimming with a career spanning 15 years and more than 600 gold medals to her credit, Nisha was the first Indian swimmer to qualify for the Olympics in 200-metres freestyle and represented India at the 2000 Sydney Olympics.
Winner of several prestigious awards such as the Arjuna Award (2000), Rajyotsava Award (2001), Ekalavya Award (2002), and Indo American Young Achiever Award (2002), Nisha holds the distinction of being the first Indian swimmer to break the one-minute barrier in the 100-metres freestyle. Since 2006, her Academy has coached more than 12,000 swimmers.
Above all, Nisha is a woman who has conquered fear and defied great odds to reach the position she is in now. She will share the challenges she has faced in her journey and how she overcame them at eShe’s Shine Your Light.
Meet the Facilitators
Anusha Hegde
An engineer by training and a belly dancer by passion, Anusha Hegde is the co-head of Tarantismo Creative Dance Company, the pioneers of belly dance in Bangalore and Delhi. She is also trained in Bharatnatyam, Kathak, contemporary dance, ballet, hip-hop and a few Latin styles, and has been teaching belly dancing with Tarantismo for the past 12 years.
As one of the oldest forms of dance in the world, and one that is exclusively for women, belly dance is said to increase strength, tone muscles, promote balance, digestion, coordination and confidence. Besides, it’s a fun and highly expressive dance form!
Anusha will show participants the basics of belly dancing in her session at eShe’s Shine Your Light Bengaluru.
Kavitha Garla
An award-winning motivational speaker in Bengaluru, Kavitha Garla is a former marketing and public relations professional who did her MBA and worked in the US before returning to India.
Now a trainer in public speaking, Kavitha’s forte is women’s empowerment and communication skills training. She is a certified ‘Pep Talker’ and as head of business development at Solutionz, which helps in the transformation of people and organizations, she has interacted with corporate from entry level to CXOs, which has greatly contributed to her ability to inspire, influence and impact.
She will conduct a session on enhancing public-speaking skills and boosting confidence at eShe’s Shine Your Light.
Riitu S Bahri
Riitu S Bahri is an energy coach, Reiki Grand Master, EFT graduate and a transformational coach. She practises Access Consciousness and empowers people to release limiting programmed beliefs so as to consciously co-create a life of empowerment, vitality, success and love.
An effective and committed healer, Riitu’s unique integrative energy healing modality is drawn from a spectrum of healing modalities, including Reiki, Karuna Reiki, aura scanning and chakra balancing. It embodies the living principles of self-transformational human evolution.
She will conduct a meditation called ‘Are you willing to RECEIVE YOU?’ at eShe’s Shine Your Light.
Aekta Kapoor
Aekta Kapoor is the founder editor of eShe magazine and the author of the spiritual memoir 100 Paths. She is a lifestyle journalist and editorial consultant with her pieces appearing in some of India’s top media publications.
After several years in fashion and lifestyle media — and many experiments in faith and personal growth — Aekta is now largely occupied with matters to do with feminism and spirituality. Trained in hypnotherapy, pranic healing and neuro-linguistic programming, she gives motivational talks on inner transformation, sexual empowerment, following one’s purpose and ‘shining one’s light’.
She’s all set to conduct a gentle, therapeutic ‘Touch of Love’ interactive session at eShe’s Shine Your Light in Bengaluru.
Kaveri Jain
Kaveri Jain is the quintessential business brain and has powered several startups thanks to her keen affinity with finance. A stakeholder in various Delhi and Rajasthan-based companies, she is also business director at eShe and a culinary aficionado.
She not only cooks up delicious recipes for her family, friends, Instagram blog, and for eShe’s food pages, she has also studied the effect of different foods on the brain, and the emotional quotient of nutrition.
She will share her tips and experiences from her gastronomical journey in a useful session called ‘Food and Mood: Listening to Your Body’.
