High-performance Luxury Treatments at the Imperial Delhi

A small group of lucky ladies were the first to try out the new experiences on offer at the decadent Imperial Hotel, Janpath, New Delhi. After chatting over wine and hors d’oeuvres at the chic Daniell’s Tavern restaurant, we were led to the haloed environs of the spa and salon on another side of the hotel. Here, we sampled the new treats introduced at the Imperial Salon, including nail art, colour and nail gels, anti-ageing hair care by Kerastase, and several makeup services including bridal and party makeup.

Done up in colonial décor, the Imperial is one of the few properties in Delhi that has retained its regal heritage, which goes back to pre-Independent India. Plush, elegant and resplendent, the hotel is one-of-a-kind when it comes to true luxury, Indian-style. It hosts Chanel’s only store in the city, and has hosted some of the most powerful names in business and politics from around the world.

The spa and salon here, as to be expected, are a fantasy come alive – all chic and calm – featuring Maletti furnishings from Italy. Have a pamper-fest at the salon with their signature treatments such as the Signature Chronologist Caviar Ritual, which revitalizes hair and restores its original beauty. Experiment with their new Bio Sculpture Nail Treatments, which use a special gel as an overlay over natural nails to make the colour (over a 100 choices of hues) last longer without harming the nails.

This is done by a qualified nail technician and comes with a five-star safety rating. Layers of gel are applied to the natural nail and cured under a UV or UV LED lamp; the nails are dry to touch once they are cured (the tricky thing, though, is that you’ll have to return for a 15-minute removal session once you’re bored of your nail colour). Rest assured, nails are left undamaged, and even improved in some cases. (We’ll let you know what ours end up like, three weeks later.)
