The old-world charm of vintage hairstyles has never disappointed us. From sixties-hit Hollywood flicks, these styles have trickled down to the red carpet, Bollywood and eventually Indian weddings.
Chances are, whether you revisit your parents’ wedding album or the most recent nuptials in your family, you’ll find at least one woman in a vintage hairdo. From bouffants to finger waves, vintage hairstyles resurface every now and then. Sometimes in their original glory and sometimes with a modern-day tweak. And we are all for it!
Divas from all around the world are paving the way for us as their team experiments with these hairstyles. Here are a few celebrity looks that caught our eye.
1. Deep waves
Selena Gomez served up some serious glam at the Golden Globes recently with her even waves. These highly structured waves exude such a well-groomed and classy look! She looked like she had just stepped out of a Hollywood classic.

Zendaya too rocked the deep-waves look at the Paris premiere of her new film The Drama.

Aditi Rao Hydari and Jessica Alba also show us how to wear the look beautifully on long hair.

2. Subtle bouffant
Bring the bouffant back, but make it super subtle. Today’s bouffant is not about adding major height to your frame, but just a hint of volume. With the highly anticipated The Devil Wears Prada 2 round the corner, all eyes are on Anne Hathaway. And rightly so. We were bowled over by her Oscars look featuring a very understated bouffant and soft waves that gave a neat look to her face.

South stunner Sreeleela was also seen embracing the subtle bouffant recently. Try it for a quintessentially Indian take on the hairstyle.

3. Slick-back dos
Just like her character in Emily in Paris, Lily Collins is also partial to dramatic vintage hairstyles in real life. In the past seasons we have seen her character embrace finger waves and bangs, which she has now traded in for shorter bobs. Her slicked back dos have become a staple red carpet look.

Or you can take a cue from Deepika Padukone who recently sported a slicked-back mane for an event in Stockholm.

Alia Bhatt and Sharvari, who will be seen in the spy thriller Alpha very soon, have also been partial to the slicked-back look.

4. Kiss curls
Slicked-back hair with coil-type curls to frame the face, this look is all about the drama. So if you like to make an entrance, take a cue from Kim Kardashian and show this picture to your hairstylist.

Even One Battle After Another star Teyana Taylor, with her short hair is partial to this look. She has tried it at various events and movie premieres. It just goes to show that the hair length doesn’t really matter for this hairstyle.

We also love Sydney Sweeney’s artful curls. Total diva!

5. Broad hairbanded mane
Raise your hand if you’ve ever tried this look. I have! And it’s a super simple look to achieve with a mega glam payout! Backcomb the hair a little bit and you’re set.

Kiara Advani and Keerthy Suresh have been sporting this look. It especially works well if you have a big forehead and want to draw attention instead to your hair and face.
